About Alysse Musgrave
If you’ve seen my iconic monkey around the Dallas area you already know me. My monkey and company tagline, “Don’t Let Them Make a Monkey Out of You!” have been insulting and infuriating real estate agents for 24 years!
When I bought my first house in 1994, Texas was a “buyer beware” state. Buyer representation didn’t exist and the mortgage industry was largely unregulated. Predatory lenders were able to convince borrowers to accept expensive and unfair loan terms. Thousands of people bought homes they couldn’t afford when they, unknowingly, worked with real estate agents whose job is was to get the highest price for the seller. It was a very risky time to be a homebuyer.
It was at a cheesy real estate investment seminar that I first learned of Exclusive Buyer’s Agency. The pro-consumer attitude and buyer focused business model were a perfect fit for me. Within months I quit my corporate job, and HelpUBuy America was born.
As a graduate of Texas A&M University, I was able to take the Aggie Code of Honor: “An Aggie does not lie, cheat or steal or tolerate those who do” and apply it to my work in real estate. As the moral and ethical foundation of HelpUBuy America, adherence to this code of honor has led to an outstanding record of customer satisfaction, and hundreds of homebuying success stories.
I’m not the right agent for everyone. I have a lousy sense of direction, I always wear jeans, and I have ridiculous hair (think Chia Pet). But I’m also smart and brutally honest. If you’re doing something stupid I’ll let you know. I’ll treat you like one of my brothers and hold your hand through the buying process (the brother I like, not the one that I don’t).
So, If you’re buying a home in the D/FW area give me a call. Even if we decide not to work together, I’ll give you some sound advice and a push in the right direction.

“I can definitely recommend Alysse as a buyers agent. My wife and I first worked with a different agent with whom we were not very satisfied. Alysse has a good eye for spotting structural problems before you go to the trouble of getting an inspection done. I was very pleased with the information she provided and felt it was unbiased. Alysse also knew the areas where we were shopping very well.”Drew C
After reading the book, I googled her name and found that she works in Dallas area where I was looking for a house! I immediately contacted her and decided to work with her. When I interviewed her, it was kind of funny to ask her the questions she recommended to ask in her book:) I really enjoyed working with her and we bought a house we really liked at a great price. If you were in Dallas area, don’t hesitate to contact her for an interview.”Dukgun Kim
